Welcome to The Plaza, South Waikato's premium performing arts centre. We are available to hire for small and large events.

Our newly renovated proscenium arch theatre features a 9-bar fly tower, ample parking, full wheelchair access, excellent dressing rooms/studio with kitchen and showering facilities, gas heating, retractable seats to reveal large floor, and the best acoustics you’ve heard in years!

We boast very reasonable rates. Call us – you'll be surprised at what we can offer!

Spellbound Concert

This event is to fundraise for Youthline as part of the journey for Putaruru Student, Thea-Rose Hill, as a finalist of the Miss Five Crowns NZ 2018 . This event is proudly sponsored by Miss Five Crowns NZ and Pageants of NZ and brought together by local country music duo Spellbound. The ticket prices are $10 per ticket - cash door sales will be available on the night and also tickets will be available from Monday 23rd July at Tuscany Road Fashion Store (cash sales only). A light supper will be provided at half time. Concert is from 7.00pm until 10.30pm with great local talent and fashion show with finalists of Miss Five Crowns NZ.

Sunday Movie - The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

2pm A writer forms an unexpected bond with the residents of Guernsey Island in the aftermath of World War II, when she decides to write a book about their experiences during the war. $8 Adults, $5 Students Free Bus Service from Tokoroa to The Plaza which follows the usual Urban Connector route from 12noon with a return trip after the concert.

South Waikato Music Society – Richard Mapp (Piano)

2.30pm This concert will be a piano lovers fantasy exploring the full range and power of the piano. Richard Mapp is a well-known pianist who has toured many times for Chamber Music New Zealand, performed with the major orchestras and appeared as chamber music partner with the New Zealand String Quartet and other leading musicians in this country. He has recorded six CDs and is frequently heard on RNZ Concert. Adults $25, Members $20, Students Free, Door Sales Only, No Eftpos. www.southwaikatomusic.org
